Significant Contributions to Technical Education & Society
A merit holder throughout her career, Dr. Rajeshwari Wankhade has contributed
to the Department of Technical Education in various capacities since 37 years as a
Professor in Civil Engg, Soft Skills Trainer & Motivator.
An alumnus of the prestigious Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering. She
did her B.E. Civil Engineering in 1985 & M.Tech. Hydraulics in 1990. Her quest for
knowledge continued further & she became the first lady to complete Ph.D. in
Technical Education, with her area of specialization as Curriculum Development &
Implementation.
In her illustrious career in Technical Education, she successfully performed
various tasks and contributed handsomely to the cause of students & society
She took voluntary retirement to pursue her passion of Youth empowerment
& other social causes. She has trained many students for Sainik Schools,
Rashtriya Indian Military college Dehradun , NDA, CDS, AFCAT etc. She
served as State level Training Coordinator for Faculty Members of
Maharashtra & conducted many programmes of ‘Training of Trainers’.
Glimpses of her work
- As President Life Skills Foundation she planned , designed & organized a unique & first of its kind multiskillling & residential training programme for 40 tribal youth of Maharashtra & brought them in the mainstream of National economy by ensuring their placement in different sectors.
- She is inspiring, motivating & training youth for joining Defence Forces through Rakshanam Defence Preparatory Academy.
- Won National Award Atal Shastra Markenomy Persona of the Decade for contribution to Socio Economics causes at New Delhi.
- Lokmat Sakhi Manch Award in the field of Education.
- Won Best Lady Social Entrepreneur award from Vidarbha Industry Association.
- Functioned as resource faculty for Leadership, Team building, Interview Techniques, Group Discussion & Women Empowerment etc.
- Motivated & guided various students for joining Military Schools & National Defence Academy.
- Coordinated Career Fair on Wheels in 6 Talukas of Gadchiroli.
- Functioned as officer In charge Autonomy, Multipoint Entry & Flexibility from 15 years at Government Polytechnic, Nagpur.
- Planned designed and organized a comprehensive Road safety management programme ‘Live and Let Live’ for Chandrapur District.
- Planned designed & organized state level workshops on ‘Designs & Implementation of Curriculum’.
- Planned, Designed & organized state level Faculty Development Training Programme for newly inducted Teachers.
- Organized various Programmes on ‘Women Empowerment’ Conceived planned & materialized Civil Engineering projects on ‘Heritage Structures.
- Ram Zhoola & Traffic Engineering, with a social cause.
- Actively organized various Blood Donation Programmes, at Nagpur, Chandrapur & Gadchiroli district for various organizations.
- Planned Coordinated & organized Blood & Eye Donation Programme even for Forest Society, Nagpur.
- Planned & organized Organ Donation Programmes to spread awareness amongst Faculty & Students of Nagpur District.
- Conceived, Planned , designed & implemented Multiskilling course for 41 Tribal students of Maharashtra.
- Delivered Motivational Speeches in various Conferences in Maharashtra to encourage participation of girls in Technical Education.
- Published various papers in seminars & conferences.
- Conducted various Projects on Heritage Structures.
- Won appreciations for significant contribution to development of curricula of Technical Education.
