About Rakshanam Defence Preparatory Academy
Rakshanam Defence Preparatory Academy is fortunate to have Patronage of
Lieutenant General Rajendra Nimbhorkar(Retd) (PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM**
,
VSM), Vice Admiral Soonil Bhokare (Retd) (AVSM, YSM, NM), Air Vice Marshal
Vijay Wankhade (Retd). The Academy was established by Dr.Rajeshwari
Wankhade and Mr. Anil Wankhade (Both Engineers) with the sole purpose of
enabling the youth to serve the country by joining the Defence forces in the
capacity of an Officer as well as Junior Commissioned Officers/ Other ranks.
The Academy is located at the outskirts of the lush green Gorewada zoo in a
village called Fetri which is barely 13 Km from Zero Mile, Nagpur (7 Km from
Civil Lines). In the immediate vicinity of lush green trees of a Bio diversity park
along the Nagpur Kalmeshwar Road, spread over an area of 15000 sq ft are the
premises of Life Skills Foundation which runs, Rakshanam Defence
Preparatory Academy. Our state of the art infrastructure includes fully equipped
smart classrooms, Residential complex, Office area, Hostel area with a separate
facility for girls & boys. Total capacity of the RDPA hostel is 150.
It has a
well-stocked library with a reading and study room. The library is stocked with
books to help the students with syllabus of different exams and also to cater for
General Knowledge and leisure reading requirements.The Academy has all
facilities for outdoor training. The equipment required for obstacle, outdoor
physical training and GTO tasks are made available within the premises. The
Academy is provided with a 24×7 Wi-Fi facility to enable students to access the
internet at any time. It also has arrangements to conduct group discussions
among students on various topics. Regular guest lectures are conducted and
motivational movies are screened to build the morale of the students
Both the founders Dr (Mrs) Rajeshwari Wankhade and Mr Anil Wankhade have
a teaching and managerial experience of more than 35 years in various
educational institutes in Maharashtra. Dr (Mrs) Rajeshwari Wankhade herself
